The property is exactly as listed. There is a hill to contend with BUT this is a positive feature as the location provides a spectacular view over PV and the bay from the pool deck. We “never” walked up the hill on our way home as 50 pesos in a taxi gets you there in comfort from anywhere in the Romantic zone. Your hosts Chuck and Tom are amazing and will see to your every need. All in all one of our best vacations in PV. We recommend the Casa Tamarindo, Chuck and Tom wholeheartedly and are already looking forward to a little PV time with them next year.

Everything is as promised. The photos don’t do the view from the rooftop terrace justice. It’s breathtaking. A lovely oasis after a day of exploring beautiful Puerto Vallarta.

I just wanted to say thanks for being such great hosts. I cannot speak for Derek, but I was impressed with the Penthouse Studio apartment. It was a great size and the patio was amazing. I will miss the king-size bed as I only have a queen in my house. It was so comfortable. Everything that I needed to make coffee, especially before heading to the store to shop was available, which was really nice. Also, everything was available for cooking. Thanks for the tips on the new restaurants in PV to try out. They were great.
The view from the patio and the rooftop pool were amazing. I have posted some great videos on my Facebook account that show the view of the city and the water. The unit and the patio are the perfect sizes to entertain friends and to socialize in.
I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my time there. Just relaxing, reading and watching the world go by. Everything was a short walk to and I got my exercise walking up the hill. 🙂 I will be back. Hopefully in May for a week. Take care and pat yourselves on the back for having a great place and for being such great hosts.

My friend and I both rented the Tamarindo 1 Bedroom Apartment and the Penthouse Studio for two weeks. We were both thoroughly impressed by each of the units. They were clean, spacious, with Mexican themed decors. The beds very comfortable and inviting after a day of enjoying Puerto Vallarta. The living and lounging areas were equally comfortable. The views of PV and Banderas Bay from both the Penthouse sun deck and the rooftop pool are spectacular. The Sundeck off the Penthouse studio is spacious that can easily accommodate 8-10 people. In the afternoon it’s a great place to lounge and take in the sun to tan if that’s to your liking. We had friends over a couple of nights and made good use of the sundeck.
The rooftop pool is a definite highlight. As mentioned great vistas of Banderas Bay and a great vantage point to watch a sunset. Equipped with loungers for sunbathing, a canopied covered table and chair for shade, a wet bar area with BBQ and washroom. The great views are because the complex is a bit elevated. That means there is an incline when walking home. We got used to it and also from watching a local criss-cross up the street we figured out, while looking funny, it reduced the effect of the incline. In the two weeks there we only once opted for a cab after a particularly festive night LOL. Cabs and Ubers are so inexpensive.
Prior to our arrival I received an e-mail from Chuck, letting us know they were looking forward to our arrival and to confirm our dates and time, asking when our flight arrived. After providing the details I received another e-mail in which Chuck provided the address of Casa Tamarindo, details of travel options via Uber and Cab, and their contact numbers/e-mails. I have to say I really appreciated that and it made me feel secure in my decision to book Casa Tamarindo. I was not disappointed and I have to say that the best reasons for choosing Casa Tamarindo are Chuck and Tom. They are fantastic hosts. Knowledgeable, reliable, friendly and accessible without being intrusive. We really enjoyed their company at the pool(along with their 4 legged kids ) and all the neighbourly greetings and chit chats throughout our stay. We would highly recommend renting from Chuck and Tom anytime. Thank you Chuck and Tom for being great hosts.

Will we return, absolutely. We loved this place, the hosts, and the view. Chuck and Tom are hosting a terrific place with a Mexican flavor. Amenities are much more than adequate; cleanliness is a 10; attentiveness by the hosts is outstanding. And the pool space on the top deck is such a plus. What did we do? We walked to the places that made the tortillas, the cooked beans and rice, the farmacia, the beach, restaurants and rode the bus to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. All during our 4 night stay. What did we see with the great view of the old town and Banderas Bay. Watched small children going to school in what seemed liked starched uniforms and colorful backpacks, a cruise ship going to the Vallarta harbor, and neighboring residents going to work in the morning. Probably goes down as our best Mexican stay. Need to stay longer next time.

There is no better place to stay in Puerto Vallarta than here with Chuck and Tom. We love these guys and their impeccably clean, authentic Mexican home. There is so much to do here… mostly everything is within walking distance but if you want to venture further out or do not wish to climb the hill after too many coronas or margaritas, a bus is 10 pesos. If you choose to Uber it, from the malacon, Costco or Walmart, it costs $3-6. Nearby restaurants are second to none. We loved the property with its’ beautiful upstairs patio and pool. Such an amazing view of the town, sunset, whales and departing cruise ships. Chuck and Tom treated us like family. Until we meet again my friends
